The Vancouver Sun Children’s Fund Society, in partnership with the Vancouver Foundation, provides grants to registered charities in B.C. operating summer camps and out-of-school programs that directly serve the needs of children and youth (up to 18 years) with special challenges.

Grants range up to $5,000. Applications are reviewed by Vancouver Foundation staff and members of their Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee.

The Vancouver Sun Children’s Fund Society was established in 1981 to help give needy children in B.C. a brighter future. Thanks to generous donations from our readers, earned interest from the Vancouver Sun Children’s Fund Endowment fund at the Vancouver Foundation, and its own trust fund, the following grants were disbursed in the 2007/2008 fiscal year.

The Vancouver Sun Children’s Fund Society, in partnership with Vancouver Foundation, provides grants twice yearly to registered charities in British Columbia that directly serve the needs of children and youth (up to 18 years) with special challenges. Grants range from $100 to $5000 and recommendations are made by the Vancouver Foundation’s Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee whose members have knowledge and experience in the fields of children’s physical, mental and emotional health.

Eligible applicants are B.C. registered charities and other qualified donees under the Income Tax Act. They must demonstrate fiscal responsibility and effective management. Grants are not made to individuals or businesses.
